Steps

  1. 01 Pull two shots of espresso. While they’re brewing, fill your glass with ice.
  2. 02 Add the vanilla syrup directly to the hot espresso. Stir for ten seconds — the warmth dissolves the syrup so it doesn’t sit at the bottom of your drink.
  3. 03 Pour the syrup-espresso over the ice. Let it cool for fifteen seconds.
  4. 04 Add the milk in a slow pour over the back of a spoon for the layered look. Stir before drinking.
  5. 05 Optional: top with cold foam (½ cup of milk + 1 tsp syrup, frothed for 30 seconds).
